Setting up parking profiles

A parking lot is created, you set the correct capacity and users can book a parking spot. Mapiq also enables the administrators to control exactly which locations the users can book, as well as the number of times users can book a parking spot.

Applies to

Parking lots can be created and managed by the following administrator roles:

  • Subscription Administrators (Subscription Owners, automatically are assigned this role)
  • Building Administrators
  • Shift Administrators
Shift administrators only have viewing permissions and can import users. Adding, deleting or modifying the profiles is not possible for the Shift administrator. Note that certain actions outlined in this article might not be applicable for a Shift administrator.

Creating a Parking quota profiles

Parking quota profiles work similar to the default quota profiles. The big difference is that within a Parking quota profiles you can only indicate the weekly parking quota. How far ahead you can book as well on which days you can book a parking spot is dictated by the Quota profile

  1. Go to the Access >> Quota profiles >> Parking quota profiles;
  2. Select Edit >> +Add Profile, note that the Edit button changed to Save and Cancel;
  3. Give the profile a proper name and set the desired Week quota from the dropdown;

  4. Press Save >> Save a confirmation is given on the added profile.
Parking quota can be set individually, but parking quota is dependent on the user's book quota. A parking spot can only be reserved when a spot at the office is booked. Without a spot at the office, the option is greyed out. It is recommended to match your parking- to your booking quota.

Creating a Parking location profile

Parking location profiles are created and configured identically to the Location profile. The Parking location profiles show all available parking lots within the environment and lets you enable or disable the available locations for the users. Underlying zones can be selected if desired. Depending on the selection, either of the three status can be seen.

All is selected
A selection of floor(s)/area(s)
Nothing is selected
When a checkbox indicates that All is selected, additional buildings, floors and areas are automatically included for that location profile. If A selection is made, it will not automatically be part of the profile, and it is necessary to add it manually.

To create a Parking location profile follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Access >> Location profiles >> Parking location profiles;
  2. Select Edit >> +Add Profile, note that the Edit button changed to Save and Cancel;
  3. Give the profile a proper name and set the desired Accessible locations by clicking on All parking lots or X parking lots (in case of an existing selection of parking lots).

  4. Press Save >> Save a confirmation is given on the added profile.

Adding/adjusting users to a Parking quota & location profile

A parking quota profile work similar to a quota- and location profile for bulk importing users. Refer to the Setting up access profiles (quota and location) article for more information on using the CSV import and export functionalities. All users that are not added prior to logging in, are put in the Default parking profiles.

As of right now it is not yet possible to adjust the parking profile (quota & location) of an individual user through the People tab. Currently, only the CSV-import can be used to assign a user to a parking profile.

Deleting Parking quota & location profiles

When deleting a parking profile, the same logic is applied as for the other access profiles. If users are not moved to another prior to the deletion of a profile then all in that parking profile are moved to the Default profile.
